Last week we released Visual Fusion 4.5, and based on early reports from partners and customers, it is a massive hit. The time and heat visualizations have already joined spatial query as some of the most compelling and beneficial capabilities to the end business user in VF. Seeing enterprise data integrated in the dual contexts of location and time really multiplies the value of all the data sources. Similarly, heat maps are phenomenal at reducing the complexity of large data sets and fostering at a glance understanding in ways that the brain naturally picks up on.
Here’s a heat map I made in about 5 minutes of where Lansing area IDVers live:
VF is architected in a way to get these capabilities into working production apps as quickly as possible--literally just minutes for situational apps or mashups and just a few hours if your adding one of them to an existing, more robust mission critical composite application. Agility and flexibility are still important hallmarks for Visual Fusion, and release 4.5 continues in the vein. Instructive data visualization and business-focused interactive maps for the enterprise have never been easier to create.
Ian, our CTO, recently blogged on the new localization functionality, including pictures of VF in Japanese. John Nelson, our UX lead, has also been busy crafting 1 minute videos on various aspects of VF 4.5. You can find links to all of them in his blog, or go out to our IDV Solutions channel on YouTube.
The hits just keep on coming!
