Visual Fusion Connectors unite disparate data sources and combine their content
into highly visual applications.
Visual Fusion Connectors empower business users and decision makers
for more informed, faster decision making.
Visual Fusion Server (VFS)
contains built-in interfaces that let application builders quickly and easily connect
to data sources by specifying a few parameters in XML configuration files. Once
connected to VFS, data source content can be filtered, styled, and output in a wide
variety of ways to communicate meaningfully to the application user: conditional
formatting, transformation,
heat maps,
spatial queries, dynamic & static buffering, and content simplification for
performance. Data can be published as standards-based output (KML, GeoRSS, GML,
etc.), or served up as a Web Mapping Service (WMS).
Microsoft SQL Server 2008/2005/2000
Taking advantage of the Well Known Binary (WKB) format, Visual Fusion can display
spatial information from SQL Server 2008 or from SQL Server 2005/2000. Visual Fusion
connects to SQL Server to bring that data into composite applications with other
enterprise data and cloud-based content. Stored procedures are leveraged to assemble
the content in a format that Visual Fusion Server can then filter and style prior
to display in Visual Fusion Experience or another map viewer. Any number of parameters
can be returned for use in filtering and styling data in a way that best communicates
visually to the end user.
Salesforce
Visual Fusion makes it easy to bring Salesforce content directly into highly visual applications which combine enterprise and cloud-based content into a
single operational view. Leads, Opportunities, and Contacts can all be brought into Visual Fusion applications and visualized with other organizational
and Web content. Visual Fusion also styles the data based on attributes like Rating and Expected Revenue, bringing it to life in interactive maps,
timelines, charts and graphs. Visual Fusion brings powerful business intelligence and data visualization to Salesforce unlike any other product.
Oracle 11g/10g
Taking advantage of the Well Known Binary (WKB) format, Visual Fusion can display
spatial information from Oracle 11g and 10g. Visual Fusion connects to Oracle and
brings that data into composite applications with other enterprise data and cloud-based
content. Stored procedures are leveraged to assemble the content in a format that
Visual Fusion Server can then filter and style prior to display in Visual Fusion
Experience or another map viewer. Any number of parameters can be returned for use
in filtering and styling data in a way that best communicates visually to the end
user.
ESRI ArcSDE 10
Many organizations have valuable GIS data inside ArcSDE and want a user friendly
way to get it out to the rest of the organization. Visual Fusion connects to ArcSDE
and brings that data into composite applications with other enterprise data and
cloud-based content. No longer the exclusive domain of GIS specialists, ArcSDE database
content can be easily extracted, filtered, and styled with Visual Fusion Server
(VFS) via XML configuration files. VFS also supports ArcSDE 9.2.
KML, KMZ, ATOM, & GeoRSS Files
Visual Fusion makes it easy for users to upload KML, KMZ, ATOM, & GeoRSS files into
SharePoint so that they can be combined with other enterprise and cloud-based data
in a highly visual composite application. Often it is advantageous to apply advanced
filtering and/or alternate styling to the file content for enhanced communication
to the end user, and in these cases Visual Fusion Server (VFS) connects to the files
stored in SharePoint in order to process their content through the VFS styling engine.
In this way the files are greatly enhanced as communication tools to users.
Bing Maps for Enterprise Web Service
Microsoft’s Bing Maps for Enterprise Web Service provides many valuable resources
to organizations. Visual Fusion connects to this Web service and empowers Visual
Fusion application builders to leverage it for geocoding, place find, local search
results, and bringing in Bird's Eye imagery. Through the Web service, you can also
create Points of Interest data layers for many types of businesses and services,
using the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS). Adding data layers
such as "Pizza" (for all the local pizza restaurants), "Police Stations", etc. can
be beneficial to many types of composite applications.
MapPoint Web Service
Microsoft’s MapPoint Web Service provides many valuable resources to organizations.
Visual Fusion connects to the MapPoint Web Service and empowers Visual Fusion composite
application builders to leverage it for geocoding and place find. Through the Web
service you can create Points of Interest data layers for many types of businesses
and services using the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS). Adding
data layers such as "Police Stations", "Hospitals", "Hotels", etc. can be beneficial
to many different types of composite applications.
SharePoint Lists & Libraries
Visual Fusion makes it easy to bring SharePoint content directly into highly visual
applications which combine enterprise and cloud-based content into a single operational
view. Often it is advantageous to apply advanced filtering and styling to SharePoint
content for enhanced communication to the end user, and in these cases Visual Fusion
Server (VFS) connects to SharePoint Lists and Libraries in order to run that content
through the VFS styling engine. This is one of many powerful ways that Visual Fusion
extends SharePoint and enhances its usefulness in the enterprise. Visual Fusion
also takes advantage of the ability to email-enable SharePoint Image Libraries;
this means that users with mobile devices can email photos for inclusion in Visual
Fusion applications, providing "feet on the street" intelligence.
Excel Files
Visual Fusion makes it easy for users to upload Excel files into SharePoint and
then geocode the items within each Excel file so that they can be combined with
other enterprise and cloud-based data in a highly visual composite application.
Often it is advantageous to apply advanced filtering and styling to Excel file content
for enhanced communication to the end user, and in these cases Visual Fusion Server
(VFS) connects to Excel files stored in SharePoint in order to run the items in
that file through the VFS styling engine. In this way both Excel files are greatly
enhanced as communication tools to users.
SHP Files
Visual Fusion makes it easy for users to upload SHP files into SharePoint so that
they can be combined with other enterprise and cloud-based data in highly visual
composite applications. Often it is advantageous to apply advanced filtering and
styling to SHP file content to better communicate to the end user. In these cases
Visual Fusion Server (VFS) connects to SHP files stored in SharePoint in order to
run that content through the VFS styling engine. In this way raw SHP files are greatly
enhanced as communication tools to users.
Business Data Catalog (SharePoint Server 2007)
Microsoft’s SharePoint Server 2007 can connect to a wide variety of line of business
(LOB) systems and make the content of those systems available in SharePoint via
the Business Data Catalog (BDC). Visual Fusion connects to the BDC and brings LOB
content into highly visual composite applications along with other enterprise data
and cloud-based content. BDC content can be filtered and styled by Visual Fusion
Server to enhance communication to the end user.
Business Connectivity Services (SharePoint Server 2010)
Microsoft’s SharePoint Server 2010 can connect to a wide variety of line of business
(LOB) systems and make the content of those systems available in SharePoint via
Business Connectivity Services (BCS). Visual Fusion connects to BCS Lists and brings
LOB content into highly visual composite applications along with other enterprise
data and cloud-based content. BCS List content can be filtered and styled by Visual
Fusion Server to enhance communication to the end user.
SDK Custom Connectors
The Visual Fusion SDK empowers visual composite application builders to create custom
data connectors to bring the content of virtually any data source into Visual Fusion
Server. The SDK provides a template for creating connectors to SOAP-based Web services.
This highly flexible approach to adding connectors empowers the application builder
to bring in any number of enterprise or Internet data sources, filtering and styling
the content while combining it with other enterprise data and cloud-based data into
highly visual composite applications.
