Heat maps are valuable representations of data that give great at-a-glance understanding of complex data sets.

Heat maps are easy to set up in Visual Fusion and can be used for any connected content. Additionally, application creators have great flexibility in setting up themes, sizes, and intensities to represent the data in ways that are most meaningful to end users.

Use Visual Fusion to create enterprise mashups and interactive maps within SharePoint.

Heat maps for individual data feeds can be created either through the Composer GUI or XML file configuration. Composer allows anyone in an organization to apply heat mapping to any data source of points through a GUI. The tool allows the site builder to apply one of many themes, and set the size and intensity for each point of heat. Intensity can even be tied to an underlying data value to more clearly represent the content to the application end user.

XML file configuration allows the app builder to do even more. One additional capability is displaying filters that allow the end users to manipulate the size and intensity of the individual points of heat with a slider or some other control.
