The newest version of Visual Fusion has arrived and it is awesome!
Three words for you:
Silverlight – Speed – Search
The new Silverlight front-end is amazing. Not only are the tools, controls, and feel something special, but there is tremendous power here. The end user can do a ton of useful things, but my favorites are:
· Filter each data source individually based on underlying attributes (range, match, keyword, etc.)
· Extrude point data vertically or horizontally based on underlying attributes (dynamic visuals!)
· Manipulate Virtual Earth in new ways for greater understanding (tilt & rotate the map view)
· Bring in data feeds ad hoc: KML/KMZ, ATOM/RSS, WMS, Wikipedia Search, Visual Fusion Enterprise Search, etc.
Take the front-end for a test drive here.
The speed with which anyone in the organization can create a business-focused application is jaw-dropping. We have built a couple of GUIs that leverage SharePoint workflow and Site Templates to instantiate a new app in about a minute, and then add data sources in minutes as well. I demoed this in an April 22 webcast, which can be found here.
Enterprise Search in Visual Fusion 4 means that all content integrated in your application can be searched against, no matter where it’s source is. That’s power!
Visual Fusion 4 is positioned to be a game changing product for anyone interested in:
