August 22, 2006
Lansing-based IDV Solutions receives recognition from software giant for its innovative solutions and pragmatic application of the latest geospatial technologies to issues with national and global impact.
IDV Solutions, a Lansing technology company, which specializes in Location Intelligence Solutions for the Federal Government and Fortune 500 companies, received an honorary award from Microsoft Federal, the unit of Microsoft which provides the Federal Government with Microsoft Software and solutions. The two and a half year old company won the "Rookie of the Year" award largely for its joint efforts with Microsoft in providing solutions for the National Geospatial-intelligence Agency (NGA), a Federal Agency which provides satellite and aerial imagery in the interests of national security and disaster management.
IDV Solutions has provided multiple solutions for the NGA including a first responder portal after the post Katrina effort, and security portals for the recent Super Bowl in Detroit and the Torino Winter Olympics.
IDV's patent-pending product, Location Feature Server, enables large companies and organizations to view diverse, disparate sets of data on top of interactive maps, satellite and aerial imagery. It is currently working in an ongoing capacity with multiple Government agencies on defense and disaster management solutions which leverage the latest geospatial technology and satellite imagery to facilitate more accurate, efficient collaboration and information dissemination between geographically distributed individuals and groups.
