IDV Solutions Unveils Latest MOSS 2007 Enterprise Search Capabilities at GEOINT 2007

IDV Solutions has created a first-of-its-kind integration of Microsoft Enterprise Search and IDV's own Visual Fusionâ„¢ composite application suite. The crisis demonstration presented at the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency booth at GEOINT 2007 in San Antonio, TX highlights IDV's most recent collaboration with Microsoft technology: a rapidly deployable crisis management platform which brings together enterprise and cloud-based resources into a holistic visual composite application. One of the new, powerful capabilities of this platform is the integration of Enterprise Search functionality, Virtual Earth imagery, MOSS 2007 collaboration capabilities, and Visual Fusion composite application software.
A valuable foundation for interested enterprises, IDV's lab gives users the opportunity to learn about emerging technologies and products available to solve their business problems. In addition, the site serves as a sandbox for users looking to get the most out of their technology investments. The lab will function as a forum for topics related to composite applications, location intelligence, visualization products and services, etc.
“The integration of our Visual Fusion Suite software with Microsoft's enterprise software only gets more and more compelling. Now, by tying into Microsoft's Enterprise Search, our customers can visualize, in the context of time and space, the results of their keyword searches of structured and unstructured information,” stated Scott Caulk, Product Manager at IDV Solutions.
In the GEOINT demonstration, search results are returned to the composite view and displayed as a layer of information on the map. Further, OGC Web Mapping Service (WMS) imagery is returned as separate layers which can be brought into the composite view. This GeoRSS and WMS data returned via Enterprise Search blends with the existing internal and external data into a rich, interactive user experience.
