Connect to Enterprise Data
Using Visual Fusion Server®, Visual Fusion Suite connects to enterprise data sources, such as SQL Server, SOAP web services, and SharePoint's Business Data Catalog (BDC), and brings data from them together for assembly into visual composite applications. Additionally, the SDK allows developers to create custom connectors to any data source, to implement custom formatting, and to connect to third-party Web parts. This gives organizations the ability to consolidate disparate data and integrate Web services all into one View.
Consolidate Data into a Portal
VF Suite leverages Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 (MOSS) to consolidate enterprise data, Web services and unstructured workgroup files. Excel data, images, documents, GIS files (KML, SHP), links to data feeds, SharePoint List data: all can be organized within the Visual Fusion List & Library extensions to MOSS. VF Suite geospatially enables and outputs this data as GeoRSS or KML for easy consumption by a map viewer.
Manage Data as Geospatial Content
VF Suite leverages MOSS content management functionality, applying it to the consolidated data from the enterprise, the Web, and individual workgroups. Organizing, editing, and collaborating are simplified, no DBA or GIS experience required. Powerful capabilities within MOSS such as Excel Services, Enterprise Search, and the Business Data Catalog can also be leveraged to provide additional functionality.
Visualize Data in the Context of Location & Time
Another key piece of the Visual Fusion Suite is Visual Fusion Experience®, a set of rich user interface components that can be deployed as SharePoint Web parts or as standard Flash Web page components.
